The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has published guidance that recommends students be physically present in schools this fall.

The guidance mentions the importance of in-person learning and some of the negative effects of time away from the classroom such as decreased learning, social isolation, and increased depression.

The document also notes that while 6 feet distancing is ideal, it might not be realistic at times during the school day. The document covers considerations for different grade levels, disinfectants, testing and screening, PPE and face masks, and distancing.
