Major Initiatives:

The Indiana Lead Safe Task Force was formed in 1999 as a forum for local health departments, housing agencies and others involved in lead poisoning prevention to discuss issues of common concern, advocate for more protective programs, and plan the annual conference.

In recent years, as the CDC and EPA have moved towards a more comprehensive “healthy homes” approach, we became the Lead Safe and Healthy Homes Task Force and welcomed asthma advocates into our discussions.

The Task Force now meets every other month in Indianapolis, with the ability for people to call into a conference line.   The agenda generally consists of useful updates from ISDH and conversation about policy issues, planning for the annual conference, and other issues that may be suggested by the participants.

All are welcome to participate in this task force. Contact Jodi Perras at jperras@ikecoalition.org for information and meeting dates.
